About this cocktail
Starting in California in the 1930s at the heel end of prohibition, the tiki craze spread around the world, Tiki bars were exotically decorated like something from a Hollywood set and provided a place to escape to South Pacific themed destinations. Tropical, fruity cocktails created the entire “tiki drink” genre.
The most infamous of all tiki drinks, the Zombie was invented by legendry bartender, Don Beach at his bar, Beachcombers, in 1936. The boozy concoction was limited to two per consumer as it would turn his customers into the walking dead. Today, most bars follow the same tradition. Drink responsibly.
