Shedding its frivolous, girly image from the 80s, the spritz has returned as a legitimate cocktail choice, popping up on cocktail lists in trendy bars and restaurants.

Talia Baiochhi and Leslie Pariseau, editors of Punch, explore the popular drink’s Greek and Italian roots, diving into colourful history and modern revival of spritz’s, with essays on Italy’s “spritz trail” and the current rise of spritz culture.

Drink recipes cover classics as well as contemporary interpretations, with contributions from well-known bartenders, photography by Dylan + Jeni and smart, modern illustrations.

Spritz will appeal to the cocktail geek in everyone.
